Love in Time of Ebola

Image
I send kisses to you, my love Where doves dare not fly And vultures dare not nests. For cold corpses disemboweled By death's cold, infectious hands Discern not age or creed As the mournful words on every lip say Ebola. Lock your doors, bar the windows From the night terrors your children keep The horrors of nightmare brought to life So cold daylight seems, so hot the sun Skin crawling, wondering if our precautions worked Fears etched deep within the blood Of the very name  Ebola Don't touch your dead,  They say, Don't bury your dead Mass graves, names of those brave warriors missing Who died in civil epidemic, empty shells Without a headstone to mark their passing No Eulogy or dirge, just hurried prayers For spirits of the dead and safety for the living In times of Ebola. Every failure shocks as casualties grow The nation stands as one, absorbing the tremors  Everyone becomes everyone's brother

Is God Unjust?

Image
Angry God Jacob have I loved and Esau have I hated. God said that. This verse and others showing God's love and  judgement has created a domino effect where atheists and God haters question the righteousness of God. My Pastor preached on the fairness of God this week and I am in a better position to answer your questions about the fairness of God Biblically (Romans 9). God said of Pharoah, I have hardened his heart so that my glory will be known to the world. What shall we say then, is God unjust? Paul answers no. God is fair. God cannot be judged by our standard of fairness because He is the standard of fairness. "God is God," a friend smartly answered when I posed the question about the fairness of God on Facebook. If anyone decides whether what he does is fair, it would be Him and not you. Sin comes about when we try to make God in our image. There is so much more to God than His love for us or His hate for sin. You are not on Extreme Weight Loss so you c

Happy New Year!!!!

I wish you a year of blessings and fulfilled promises. One thing I can promise in 2014 is hope. Hope can go a long way, so does courage, hard work, love, and family. As I enter each new year, I always look at my last year resolution. I see the shambles of uncompleted work: leftover writings and drawings from unfinished ideas, work undone that needs completing; and religious fruits that still need ripening. Most of all, I feel a faint niggling of guilt, but this only lasts for five minutes while I bravely decide to finish my projects early this year. Somehow, I know time is not waiting as I plunge ahead to new projects leaving the decay of last year's for a lucky thought, an excited glance, a fevered thought and frantic fingers that could give them life again. Toward the waning of the lights and the dawn of a new year, excitement kick in and I feel annoyance that those uncompleted tasks may get my way. Should I complete them or should I focus on this year alone? This year, my thou

Worshipping God's way

When serving God, what you want rarely matters. He gave you all the time to do everything. And he's only asked us for 10% of our time this year. So how he wants you to worship, is how you should worship. Take Cain and Abel. Cain may have been a vegan. Abel was the shepherd. There was a time when they had to make offerings and Cain made an offering of fruit while his brother sacrificed a sheep. God did not accept Cain's offering; and Cain was angry. Cain may have believed that this showed God hated him. However, I do not think the acceptance was based on hatred; it was preference. I believe that besides its use for sacrificial purposes, God really likes both meat and cakes equally. He warns against eating too much meat and poisoned the quails when the children of Israel sinned, yet He uses meat only for sacrifices. On the other hand, whenever he feeds his prophets, their meals are mostly made of almonds, figs, fruits, breads, and rarely meat. For the first time, we see God a

About Happiness

Happiness is an inward or outward expressions of feeling. Only you alone can tell if you are happy or no. Sometimes people are just so silent we might think they are sad whereas they are happier than we might be at the moment. Happiness is as much a state of being influenced by your state of mind as it is the state of mind alone without outward expression. Every day is a new day when you wake up with new ideas on how to accomplish everything. Everyday is a better day when your dreams come through.

Courage

If I accepted the wrongs, I would not be myself. I de serve answers, love, affection, and charity. So must a partnership be- give, tak e, and share. I can not change who I am for anyone, I can never change who I am for anybody who thinks that I should support wrongdoings. Take it, or leave it. I am me; I always will be me. These should be the words of people who have faith and are courageous to stand for their beliefs. Do not accept wrong to please people . Nelson Mandela 1 jpg

Regret

Image
There is a time in someone's life when they say if I could have known, but when all along in some part of their beings they had known. So I say, even though you knew, and did whatever it was for your gain. It is not time to regret. It is time to live. Not all of life is trial and error. But the moments in life that counted for errors are to be reviewed and singed in the mind and never again repeated by the wise of heart. Penny Bibliography Art: Regret...Cyan Mcurry
